This is a Club for music lovers!
If you are an artist who features music lyrics in your art/ descriptions, create art inspired by music or photograph live concerts, this is the club for you!!

- Featured work will now be every other month due to lack of submissions.

- So sorry I've been absent! with a boyfriend in the army, things have gotten interesting.

- Lets have a contest! Anyone have suggestions for a theme? I'm thinking of a certain artist or emotion portrayed by music. Any thoughts?

Joining
-Send a note with "joining" as the heading. You will most likely be accepted. (it may take a while to get back to you!)

Submitting
- Send a note to this account with "submission" as the heading.

- Give me the title catagory, the keywords and what song or piece of music inspired you, then send me the link to your work

- Work that does not match the community theme will not be posted, so make sure you include the music that inspired you

- * Not to be snobby, but some work that is not up to par with the rest of the work posted here will not be submitted. Sorry! If you don't like it, don't complain, just don't join.*

- If submitting concert photos, make sure the image is of good quality, clarity and is close up shot. Make sure to submit the name of the band and the date/location of the concert.

- You will be credited and viewers are encouraged to fav and comment on the original work on your account.

- Limit to 2 submissions per week!

- 1 deviation per note please!

i dont know when concert photography stopped being art. being a concert photographer no one is more tire than me of lame concert photography. but thats no reason to pain it with a broad brush like this

this isn't a brush progguy 1 Hallie is working hard to get this DA site going..she knows my critques from,other aspects of her regular site and her stock site..I think she's doing a great job

i was a famous concert photographer in the 70's and 80's ..did the J Giels Freeze Frame Tour, Heart, 35 Grateful Dead shows 4 ZZ Top Shows..Starship, Zappa , Pat Metheny, Even Bebe Buell ( actress Liv Tylers mom...) I was not a cheesy photographer..and it was art then..and we used to get to go into the front pit..and on stage..and back stage and even go to the parties Bobby and The Midnights..Taj Mahal, Earth Wind And Fire, Gil Scott Heron, were all Great cats...Fressie mercury was nuts Nancy Wilson a blast

look i wasnt trying to bite anyones head off. and im not trying to tell her how to operate this site. i do disagree though with the idea that concert photography is not as much art as anything else posted here. and if that argument is made i will be inclined to give my disagreeing opinion. if she had said somthing along the lines of there are plenty of groups for conert photography and none for thematic works based on music and thats a void i wanted to fill i would have only aske that she remove the picture of mine she posted in scraps and been done with as i could understand that. i work very hard on being creative when i shoot my concert work and giving it a unique style and anyone will hear from me that tells me it is not art. i was not trying to denegate hallie in anyway but i feel i am entitled to my opinion lynx

Yep...I fully understand and respect your point of view now that you've elicited a more in depth comment. I agree with both sides of the coin...but artists rights do have to be respected..so I understand your view..I also wish DA had a right click disable feature like many other websites do..so people can't copy and distribute our works..but thats another matter and they are pretty good at keeping track of that at Here however..just seems a fun place to comment, display, or have your work chosen to be highlighted for a day or a weks or so..:) thanks the the comment...:)

Actually, disabling right-clicking would deter only the most casual rip-off merchants. With stills, to see is to possess...

i understand that their is screen capture software out there..so that even right click disabled web-sites can still be hacked even into PDF files..so i guess their is really no safety..electronic atoms can't always behave in a defined format..chaos theory = they always have to keep flowing from one place to another :)
